The two types of Irony in the novel that I'm going to talk about are Situational Irony and Irony of Events. A great evidence of situational irony in the book was the fact that everyone seemed to trust Long John Silver pretty quickly. However, Long John Silver turned out to be one of the people that they should have least trusted. Billy even told Jim that he should not trust Jim with a man with one leg. This adds to the irony because the reader knows that the man with one leg Billy was talking about is Long John Silver, but still Jim didn't listen.
